How much does it cost?
Prices start at just £4.95 for the bisque plus a studio fee of just £1.95 per painter, which covers the cost of all the paints, tools, equipment and the glazing and firing of your finished creation. Our studio fee is fiercely competitive as some of our competitors charge £5+.
How long does it take?
Once again this varies with the size and complexity of the design. On average adults should allow up to two hours but it can take longer. Younger children tend to take less time than older ones.
What if I don’t finish my piece in one session?
We’ll look after it for up to one month until you have time to come back and finish it.
Why is there a Studio Fee?
The studio fee covers the cost of the paint, glazing and firing, together with the use of the studio and all the tools, stencils and other equipment.
Why does my masterpiece have to be glazed and fired?
For food items e.g. plates, dishes, cups, mugs etc. only underglaze paints can be used. Our underglaze paints are lead free and non-toxic but need to be glazed and fired to bring out the vibrancy of the colours and to make the bisque food safe. Glazing and firing normally takes a minimum of four days but it is well worth the wait.
Is ceramic painting just for children?
Not at all! Painting ceramics appeals to all ages. Our youngest painter was 3 days old … well his feet were……..
Are the paints safe and washable?
Yes, our paints and glaze are water based, lead free and non toxic. They are perfectly safe for all ages to use. They wash off with cold water. We have an ample supply of aprons for ‘damage limitation’ too though.
Are glazed ceramic items dishwasher and microwave safe?
Whilst the glazed item is dishwasher and microwave safe, we recommend that in order to preserve the finish and vibrancy of your unique item, you hand wash it!
Do you sell drinks and snacks?
Yes! We have a range of barista made freshly ground coffees and speciality teas, incredible hot chocolate, cold drinks, home made cakes, snacks and treats..
