How much does it cost? Many studios charge a ‘studio fee’ before you even start. We are proud to be the first studios in Berkshire to NOT charge any hidden fees… Prices start at just £6 which includes the cost of the paints, tools, equipment plus the glazing and firing of your finished creation.
-
How long does it take? This varies with the size and complexity of the design. On average adults should allow up to two hours but it can take longer. Younger children tend to take less time than older ones.
-
Is there anything I should avoid while painting?Yes! It is best to avoid baby wipes, greasy food or hand cream when painting as this can repell the colours.
-
What if I don't finish my piece in one session? You can take it home and bring it back within 30 days and complete it, please bring your receipt and original packaging.
-
Why does my masterpiece have to be glazed and fired? For food items e.g. plates, dishes, cups, mugs etc. only underglaze paints can be used. Our underglaze paints are lead free and non-toxic but need to be glazed and fired to bring out the vibrancy of the colours and to make the bisque food safe. Glazing and firing normally takes a minimum of four days but it is well worth the wait.
-
Is ceramic painting just for children? Not at all! Painting ceramics appeals to all ages. Our youngest painter was 3 days old … well his feet were…
-
Are the paints safe and washable?Yes, our paints and glaze are water based, lead free and non toxic. They are perfectly safe for all ages to use. They wash off with cold water. We have an ample supply of aprons for ‘damage limitation’ though, if needed.
-
Are glazed ceramic items dishwasher and microwave safe?Whilst the glazed item is dishwasher and microwave ‘safe’, we recommend that in order to preserve the finish and vibrancy of your unique item, you hand wash it. As with ALL ceramics it is likely over time that the bisque will craze (spider web cracks/veins under the glaze).
-
Do you sell drinks and snacks?Yes! We have a range of barista made, freshly ground coffees and speciality teas, incredible hot chocolate, cold drinks, homemade cakes, hot snacks and treats.
-
What if I need help? That’s what we’re here for. Just ask! We try to be available without interfering in your experience.

I’ve never painted a pot before in my life. I wouldn’t know where to start!A lot of people say this – especially adults! We can show you how to be an expert in less than two hours – and you’ll have great fun learning. The ‘magic’ felt tipped pens are key … We have examples of painted pottery, both around the studio and on our website, Facebook and Instagram. We have WiFi and a wireless printer so you can always Google some ideas and we may be able to print out your design for you to get cracking with.
-
I want something special as a unique present. Do you do commissions?Yes, of course. Please call in to discuss your requirements and ideas. We LOVE making commissions.
-
